5 Things We Learned This Weekend.

1. Our readers are pretty awesome. We hosted a little happy hour last Thursday and we are still blown away by how much fun it was. You guys are AWESOME and we are stoked to have met you and are able to now call you friends. Thank you for all the kind words and emails and…shots. Thank you Policy for hosting! And yes, the next party will be in Arlington.

2. Jameson makes everything better. Suzie Robb can’t do anything right except bake, thus when we had a stay-at-home-Oktoberfest, we expected some sort of dessert that will make hanging out with her worth it. She brought Irish coffee blondies, which were delicious, however the best part by far was the Jameson glaze. Take 1 tablespoon butter, add 2 tablespoons of Jameson and 3/4 cup of confectioners sugar and you’ve got the best glaze ever. The mix of sugar and whiskey was a Sunday Funday game-changer.

3. Denzel Washington is the best actor ever.

4. BYO-Oktoberfest. After poor reviews of last year’s Oktoberfest in Shirlington, we decided to take matters into our own hands. Sunday ticket + every Oktoberfest and Pumpkin Ale known to man + brats on brats on brats = best Sunday ever. We highly suggest doing this yourself next Sunday. And inviting us.

5. Columbus Day is one of the greatest holidays of all time. Waking up on a Sunday and realizing that you don’t have to go to work the next morning is awesome. So awesome that some of us proceeded to drink our way through a solid twelve hours of football. Thank you, Christopher Columbus, for giving us an extra day to recover from this blur of a weekend.

We hope you all are recovering from your weekend with mimosas and bacon. Cheers to a 4-day work week!
